‘S’ is for Solar Power. The only energy source this airplane uses is sunshine

In the middle of exciting plans and preparations for a history-making flight around the world in 2015, Swiss based program Solar Impulse seems to have found it’s place in the sun.

Pilots and co-founders Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg will take turns flying the 100% solar-powered airplane, that has a cockpit only big enough for one person.

Taking time out of their hectic schedules, Piccard and Borschberg answered my many questions and explained what is involved with flying a zero-fuel airplane.
